2020 Has Some Ups and Downs in the Video Game Industry

2020 has been a year of change.  A change of how to live a “normal” life during a pandemic.  With lockdowns to social distancing, many industries have been deeply affected by this year.  One of the industries that have made changes is the video game industry.  Some video game developers made adaptions to social distancing.  Whether it be working from home or working in the office with social distancing, many video game companies continue to work.  As a result, many different video game release during this year. Now, many of the games that came out this year were incredibly enjoyable.  Some games that came out this year include Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and The Last of Us Part II to name a few. On the other hand, many game’s release dates have push back. 

Mainly due to the pandemic and other reasons.  Honestly, video game companies have the right to release their games when they’re ready to get release. Regardless, many games that have push back their release date are releasing in 2021.  What games are coming for gamers in 2021? Let’s find out together. In this news article, we’re analyzing the different video games coming out in 2021 for Nintendo Switch, X-Box, PlayStation, and Steam.

The Nintendo Switch Has A Wide Range of Video Games in 2021

The first set of video games coming out in 2021 we’re going to look at is on the Nintendo Switch.  At first glance, the Nintendo Switch has several familiar faces returning.  However, there are some that are new. According to Nintendo’s website under the section, “Game Guide – Nintendo Game Store.”, Nintendo shows “several video games coming out 2021 include Bravely Default II, Garden Story, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, and Ruined King: A League of Legends Story(1-3).  These are just some of the video games coming out 2021 for the Nintendo Switch.  From what we can see from this list, there’s a lot of games that are coming to the Nintendo Switch.  One of the things that’s incredibly exciting is the number of indie games coming soon.  Naturally, the Nintendo Switch has become the console where indie games have made an explosion. 

On the other hand, there are games coming out that are from familiar franchises.  Some of which include Bravely Default, Monster Hunter, and the Super Mario Brothers.  All in all, the Nintendo Switch has a wide range of different video games coming out 2021.  With the Nintendo Switch bringing familiar as well as new franchises, X-Box has a few tricks up their sleeve. 

Xbox Has A Ton of Video Games Coming Out in 2021

Next, we’re going to examine the Xbox video games coming out in 2021.  Undoubtedly, the games coming to this console are going to express the power of their new system.  According to Xbox’s official website under the article “Game Catalog” Xbox”, Microsoft expresses that “some of the video games coming out in 2021 include Hitman 3, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, Outriders, and The Medium(2).  Most of the games that we can see in this list look like they’re ready to push for the next generation.  When a new console comes out, the first few games that come out are more similar to the previous console.  However, the games slowly change into using the new console specifications.  As the Xbox Series X came out only recently, more games are coming out for that console. 

Now, this doesn’t mean that games aren’t coming for the Xbox One. In fact, the video games coming out in 2021 are coming out for the Xbox One and Xbox Series X.  From what we can see, Xbox is pushing new and familiar content.  Much like the Nintendo Switch with new as well as familiar games.  With that said, PlayStation doing the same thing by bringing new and familiar video games. 

PlayStation Brings A Lot of Exclusive Content for 2021

Moreover, we’re going to take a look at video games coming out in 2021 for the PlayStation 4 and 5.  Much like Xbox, PlayStation is celebrating their new PlayStation 5.  While at the same time bringing games into the PlayStation 4.  According to the official PlayStation Store under the section, “Coming Soon”, Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC states that “some of the games coming to the PlayStation in 2021 include Returnal, Guilty Gear – Strive-, and Deathloop(1-2). These are just some of the games that are coming out for both the PlayStation 4 and 5.  In fact, some of the games that are coming out in 2021 are going to be exclusive to PlayStation.  Honestly, this is huge for getting gamers into a new console.  Plus, gamers who have a PlayStation can get access to these exclusive games.

Also, other games will be coming to the PlayStation that are being release on other consoles.  So, this will bring more gamers together with whatever happens in 2021.  Finally, there’s some new video games coming out in 2021 for Steam.

Last But Not Least, Steam Brings A Lot of Video Games Coming Out in 2021

Finally, let’s take a look at video games coming out in 2021 on Steam.  For those who are unaware, Steam is one of the largest online services to purchase PC and/or MAC games.  Much like the Nintendo Switch, the video games coming out in 2021 are a mix of indie and returning franchises. According to Steam’s store under the section, “Steam Search: Upcoming”, Valve Corporation explains that “some of the video games coming to steam in 2021 include Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, Halo: Infinite, King’s Bounty II, and Outreach(7).  There’s a wide range of different games that Steam offers.  Some of them are indie games. While others are sequels or spin-offs.  That’s one of the more exciting things about Steam.  There are so many different types of games coming to 2021. 

That’s one of the exciting things about Steam.  There are so many genres that gamers could get involved in.  With discord and other voice chat services, online gaming is much more enjoyable than previous. Undoubtedly, there are more games that are going to come out in 2021.  However, the current list we have of upcoming games looks incredibly exciting.  There are somethings we can look forward to in 2021 as 2020 comes to a close. 

All in All, The Video Games Coming Out in 2021 Are Wide As Well As Diverse

In this news article, we took a look at the video games coming out in 2021. Firstly, we took a look at the games coming for the Nintendo Switch. 2021 is going to be a year for new as well as familiar games coming to this console. While Xbox in addition to PlayStation is showing off their new consoles. At the same time keeping video games coming for the previous consoles. Finally, we have some video games coming out in 2021 for Steam. Ironically, Steam is on the same boat as the Nintendo Switch. Steam is going to contain several familiar and new franchises. All in all, 2021 looks like an exciting year for the video game industry. With so much variety, there’s so much that all gamers can play in 2021.
