This image is the official logo for the Nintendo Direct for February 17, 2021.  According to Nintendo’s official YouTube page under the video, Nintendo Direct – 2.17.2021, Nintendo states “the right, as well as the credit for this company and image, belong to Nintendo(1).  Currently, this image is on Nintendo’s official YouTube page under the video Nintendo Direct – 2.17.2021 at 0:20.

Nintendo Hasn’t Had a Nintendo Direct in Several Months

Within the video game industry, there are various announcement events.  Most of them are known as directs or press conferences.  Generally, PlayStation, as well as Xbox, have press conference events.  With Nintendo, they have special events known as Nintendo Directs.  With these direct, their short presentations on announcements, updates, and special deals happening within Nintendo.  Usually, these directs divides Nintendo fans.  As some fans can’t contain their excitement. While other fans are hoping for other pieces of news. Regardless, Nintendo Directs help with gaining more news about the various games coming to Nintendo.  Within this last year, Nintendo hasn’t had many Nintendo Directs. Now, this is undoubtedly partially due to the coronavirus pandemic.   As a result, there haven’t been a lot of Directs.

Then on February 15, 2021, there was an announcement of a new Nintendo Direct coming on February 17, 2021.  On February 17, 2021, a new Nintendo Direct made its way onto Nintendo’s social media accounts. What does this Nintendo Direct have to offer? What is coming or being updated for the Nintendo Switch? Let’s find out together.  In this review, we’re analyzing this newest Nintendo Direct to see what updates and announcements are coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Pyra/Mythrea From Xenoblade Chronicles is Coming to Super Smash Brothers Ultimate

Nintendo Direct

This image is an official promotional artwork for Pyra/Mythra from Super Smash Brothers Ultimate.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch System.”, Nintendo explains “the rights for this image in addition to this franchise belongs to Nintendo while the rights of the characters belongs to Monolith Software Inc(3).   This image is on Super Smash Brother’s official Facebook page under “Photos”.

Firstly, let’s look at Super Smash Brothers Ultimate. Right from the get-go, this new Nintendo Direct reveals a new Super Smash Brothers Ultimate character.  This new addition to the lineup is Pyra and Mythra. Not to worry though, this reveal is not two characters. The best way to describe it is the way Zelda use to transform into Sheik before they each got a character slot.  This character is from the Xenoblade Chronicle series.  So, this character uses a massive sword and other combat-type attacks.  With this new reveal, there’s going to also be a new stage from Xenoblade Chronicles.  Fans of this series can rejoice in one major character being put into the ultimate fighting game.  Honestly, being able to have more female characters is incredibly exciting.  Personally, I’ve never played Xenoblade Chronicles so it’ll be interesting to see how Pyra and Mythra play.

Without a doubt, there will be a separate Nintendo Direct going into details of this new character announcement. As all character reveals have had a direct primarily dedicated to a new character.  With that, Pyra and Mythra look fun as well as powerful.  After this massive reveal, a familiar game Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is the following announcement.

This Nintendo Direct Announces Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Coming to the Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Direct

This image is an official cover art for Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.” Nintendo expresses “the rights for this franchise as well as this image, belongs to Mediatonic and Devolver Digital(3).  This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

Moving along with the Super Smash Brothers Ultimate announcement, the following announcement is the chaotic party game known as Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.  Originally, this game made an explosion during the coronavirus pandemic.  Much like another multiplayer game known as Among Us.  Anyways, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has been out on other video game platforms.  Now, Nintendo is jumping onto this franchise as well. One thing that’s still puzzling is why is Nintendo just now jumping into this game? Possibly, the Nintendo Switch has lower quality components as compared to the PlayStation, PC, and Xbox.  On the other hand, one thing that will be interesting to see how players will face each other. Will Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout on the Nintendo Switch only use other Nintendo Switch versions? On the other hand, will the game be open to other servers’ kind of like Fortnite?

Where players from multiple platforms can play on the same server together.  Regardless, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is going to be incredibly fun on the Nintendo Switch. With this popular multiplayer game coming out, a new indie game name Outer Wilds is making its way onto the Nintendo Switch.

Space Explorers Take on the Universe in Outer Wilds

This image is an official screenshot of Outer Wilds.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Outer Wilds for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo explains “the rights for this franchise as well as this image, belongs to Mobius Digital, LLC. and Annapurna Interactive(3).  This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Outer Wilds for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

From a well renown multiplayer game, the next game this Nintendo Direct reveal is Outer Wilds.  At first, Outer Wilds seems to be a first-person exploration game.  Much like another first-person exploration game in No Man’s Sky.  From what we see in the trailer, the player needs to discover why everything is happening in this solar system.  At first glance, Outer Wilds looks incredibly engaging while having some other elements of mystery.  As the solar system is in a perpetual loop of destruction.  So, there are some elements of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask where the player is on a timer.  Which will undoubtedly bring a level of urgency as well as stress to figure out what is going on.

With that, Outer Wilds will be perfect for gamers who love mystery games with a bit of urgency.  This Nintendo Direct focuses on the sense of mystery with the next two games in a new series, Famicom Detective Club.

Graphic Novel Fans Can Rejoice with a New Game, Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir and Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind

This image is an official screenshot of Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Famicom Detective Club™: The Missing Heir for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo expresses “the rights for this franchise as well as this image, belongs to MAGES and Nintendo(4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Famicom Detective Club™: The Missing Heir for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

The next game that this Nintendo Direct reveals stays on the topic of mystery games.  This new game is Famicom Detective Club.  The Direct announces that there’s going to be two separate games. The first one that’s coming out is Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir.  On the other hand, the second game is going to be Famicom Detective Club: The Girl Who Stands Behind.  Honestly, this game looks really fun.  Especially for anyone who’s a fan of graphic novels, mystery stories.  Actually, anyone who’s a fan of Phoenix Wright might really like these games.  From what we see in this trailer, the player has to figure out who committed the crime.  This game requires the player to ask questions and gain evidence for the investigation.

From what we can see, this game looks incredibly engaging with a deep story.  Nintendo is really diving deep into different genres of video game announcements.  While on the topic of deep stories, this Nintendo Direct reveals another deep story game in Samurai Warriors 5.

Samurai Warriors 5 Brings Fast Combat and Deep Stories to the Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Direct

This image is an official screenshot of Samurai Warriors 5.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “SAMURAI WARRIORS 5 for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo discusses “the rights for this franchise as well as this image belongs to KOEI Tecmo Games(4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “SAMURAI WARRIORS 5 for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

While on the subject of deep stories, the next game coming to the Nintendo Switch is Samurai Warriors 5Hyrule Warriors fans will be familiar with this type of game.  As this game is made by the same video game company that makes Hyrule Warriors.  From what we see in this trailer, Samurai Warriors 5 follows from the events within the last game. As the main character, you fight various enemies as a samurai.  There are various large enemies and other bosses.  From what we can see, Samurai Warriors 5 looks fast pace with high amounts of action.  Fans of this series as well as this developer can rejoice at this new game is coming out soon.  Within this Nintendo Direct, the pace changes to more fantasy-type games.  Much like the next game announcement name Legend of Mana.

This New Nintendo Direct Reveals a New Remaster In Legend of Mana

This image is an official screenshot of Legend of Mana.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Legend of Mana for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo reveals “the rights for this franchise as well as this image, belongs to Square Enix Co. Ltd.(3). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Legend of Mana for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

Another game that this Nintendo Direct goes into detail is Legend of Mana.  Previously, this game did get announce in a previous direct.  However, Legend of Mana hadn’t gotten a lot of news updates.  Legend of Mana fans can rejoice as this game is finally getting an update trailer.  With that said, this game looks fantastic.  Returning as well as new fans can appreciate the amount of detail this game has to offer.  Even as someone who’s never played this game, the art style alone is enough to get new players to play this game.  Set in an art style like the Super Nintendo, Legend of Mana looks like a fun and engaging Role-Playing game.

At the same time, returning players of the series can appreciate the remaster graphics.  As if being able to play the game for the first time again.  Regardless, this game looks like a fun as well as fun role-playing game.  With this new update getting underway, another game name Monster Hunter: Rise gains a much-needed update

Monster Hunter: Rise Receives a Massive Update Trailer

This image is an official screenshot of Monster Hunter: Rise.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “MONSTER HUNTER RISE for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo discusses “the rights for this franchise as well as this image belongs to CAPCOM CO., LTD.” (4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “MONSTER HUNTER RISE for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

The next game this Nintendo Direct reveals is an update to Monster Hunter: Rise. Monster Hunter fans can rejoice as more news is out for the most anticipated game in this beloved series.  Firstly, we get to see a whole bunch of new monsters. Which is huge as we haven’t seen many monsters.  As this element is the selling point for this series.  Up to this point, we’ve only seen a lot of human characters.  This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as audiences should know who the main cast of characters is. With that, being able to see the monsters in this game is huge.  Fans in addition to new players can see the amount of detail that this game has to offer.

To be honest, Monster Hunter: Rise looks incredible on the Nintendo Switch. In fact, this game looks like it’s trying to push the capability of the Nintendo Switch. Without a doubt, this game will bring more players to this series.  This trailer proves that this game is the most anticipated game in the franchise so far.  Much like the next game, this Nintendo Direct reveals on Mario Golf: Super Rush.

The Newest Nintendo Direct Raises Nintendo Sport Fans Excitement with Mario Golf: Super Rush

This image is an official screenshot of Mario Golf: Super Rush.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Mario Golf™: Super Rush for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo discusses “the rights for this franchise in addition to this image belongs to Nintendo and Camelot(4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Mario Golf™: Super Rush for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

Furthering this discussion of this Nintendo Direct, the next announcement is Mario Golf: Super Rush.  Now, I know many people who are fans of the Mario Sports games.  Many of the audiences who play these games are families or people who love Mario sport games.  Honestly, that’s perfectly okay.  Mario Party games and other Mario sports games are fun and engaging.  What makes this game stand out from the other Mario Golf games is the new mode, Speed Golf. From what we can see in this trailer, speed golf is where players race to their balls after they shoot them. Usually, Mario Golf has the turns set to each move individually. Here, this mode is all chaos as players race to the hole.

Plus, the character look like their ready to play golf.  Previously, the characters in Mario Golf just wore their regular clothes.  Now, the characters dress in their colors with their logos.  This makes the game feel more like golf than just a Mario Sports Game. Honestly, this game looks really fun. Another game that looks really fun is Travis Touchdown’s game, No More Heroes 3.

Travis Touchdown Comes to the Nintendo Switch in No More Heroes 3

Nintendo Direct

This image is an official screenshot of No More Heroes 3.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “No More Heroes 3 for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo expresses “the rights for this franchise as well as this image belongs to Grasshopper Manufacture Inc. and Marvelous Inc.(4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “No More Heroes 3 for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

The following game this Nintendo Direct reveals is No More Heroes 3.  In this game, Travis Touchdown is back trying to defeat various bad guys as an assassin.  From what we can see, this game is cartoony as well as high action.  Fans of the series can rejoice as this game is making its way onto the Nintendo Switch.  Actually, No More Heroes has been gaining quite traction as of late.  Anyways, what makes this game unique is the amount of different video game styles. This game pays homage to several different video games.  Some of these include Final Fantasy, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and Devil May Cry for instance.  Undoubtedly, there are other games that this game pays homage to.

With that said, there are other side missions that Travis has to do.  Which will bring more familiarity to the universe he lives in.  Honestly, No More Heroes 3 looks incredibly fun and chaotic.  Another chaotic game that this Nintendo Direct has to offer is Neon White.

This Nintendo Direct Reveals a Unique First-Person Game in Neon White

This image is an official screenshot of Neon White.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Neon White for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo discusses “the rights for this franchise in addition to this image belongs to Little Flag Software, LLC., Annapurna Interactive, and Ben Esposito(4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Neon White for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

Another game that this Nintendo Direct reveals is Neon White. This game seems to be a graphic novel game mix with the First Person Action game. Now, from the sounds of that, this game sounds confusing.  Usually, a first-person game has cut scenes in the first-person view.  However, this game has cutscenes where the player sees all of the characters.  Which is different of how typical first-person games are.  With that, Neon White also includes card-based attacks.  Instead of using a power meter or turn-base attacks. Which makes this game even more unique.  We only get to see a short amount of information from the trailer during the direct.  However, players will probably be able to find or collect cards from hard missions.

The characters, design, and setting of Neon White all look incredibly interesting.  I bet that this game will have a unique gameplay structure while having a deep narrative story.  While Neon White is using unique gameplay, DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power is bringing in a unique set of superheroes.

Nintendo Reveals a Very Questionable Super Hero Game Name DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power

This image is an official screenshot of DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “DC Super Hero Girls™: Teen Power for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo displays “the rights for this franchise in addition to this image belongs to Nintendo, Warner Brothers Entertainment Inc., and DC Entertainment(4).  This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “DC Super Hero Girls™: Teen Power for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

Within this direct, there’s an announcement trailer for DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power.  With superheroes being popular, it makes sense that the Nintendo Switch has a superhero game.  From what we see in the trailer, there are a couple of factors that might turn off gamers.  Another factor that might be a turn-off is the stereotypical look on girls.  This stereotypical viewpoint is girls love shopping, hanging out with friends, and being popular.  Showing these kinds of stereotypes isn’t necessarily a good thing.  Another factor that may turn gamers away from this game is the graphic. Personally, I stand by the notion that a video game doesn’t have to have good graphics in order to be enjoyable.

With that said, some of the animation looks off-putting and stiff.  Plus, some of the attacks that the Super Girls do looks similar and not that engaging.  Perhaps this game is early in development and will change over the production time. This game will be interesting to see how to transitions well to the Nintendo Switch.  At the moment, DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power doesn’t give a good impression.  On the flip side, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition looks like a chaotic yet fun time.

Plant vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition Reveals a New Team Base, Battle Royale Game

This image is an official screenshot of Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™ Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo discusses “the rights for this franchise as well as this image belongs to Electronic Arts Inc.(4).  This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville™ Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

The next game within this Nintendo Direct is Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition.  Honestly, I haven’t followed the Plants vs. Zombies series in several years.  When this new game announcement was happening, I thought it was going to be similar to the original games. With the flowers in a row and the player has to protect the flowers by stopping the zombies.  Well, that sail is so far gone.  Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition is a multiplayer game with several game modes.  Almost like something about Fortnite or Splatoon.  At first, this game looks incredibly interesting. Players get to choose which team they want to be on. Then get sent out into the battle arena with various weapons.

Now, this isn’t a huge game breaker as the other games have had this element before. Yet, this game gives the abilities as well as the weapons life.  Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition will without a doubt bring players new and returning to this game.  Honestly, it wouldn’t be a surprise if this game is brought up a lot in video game conversations.  Another video game that will be the talk of the town is Miitopia.

Mii Fans Can Rejoice With the Announcement of Miitopia

Nintendo Direct

This image is an official screenshot of Miitopia.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Miitopia™ for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo discusses “the right as well as the credit for this franchise as well as this image belongs to Nintendo (4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Miitopia™ for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

One exciting reveal this direct reveals is the return of Miitopia.  Originally for the Nintendo 3DS, Miitopia follows your Miis as they try to restore order when everyone’s faces disappear. The iconic thing is that the Miis in this game are completely random. So, a player could face off against a celebrity Mii or perhaps a family member’s Mii.  Regardless, this causes for hilarious moments. Which is why Miitopia on the Nintendo 3DS was so popular.  With that, this new version of Miitopia looks to add some new features.  Some of which include character bonding and new attacks.  Without a doubt, there will be other features to add-in.

With this game coming out in 2021, this does raise questions about Tomodachi Life.  Much like Miitopia, Tomodachi Life is similar to this game in terms of popularity.  Maybe if Miitopia does well, this will inspire Nintendo to release or possibly make a Tomodachi Life 2.  Who knows but this announcement does raise some questions.  Anyways, there’s no doubt that Miitopia is going to be fun and crazy.  Speaking of fun, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is finally receiving new items from the Super Mario Brothers series.

Super Mario Brothers Items Coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Nintendo Direct

This image is an official screenshot of the new Super Mario Brothers items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Animal Crossing™: New Horizons for the Nintendo Switch™ System – Official Site.”, Nintendo reveals “the rights for this franchise as well as this image belongs to Nintendo (9).  This image is on Nintendo’s official YouTube channel under the video, Nintendo Direct – 2.17.2021 at 26:43.

Animal Crossing fans can rejoice as we’re getting new items.  More especially items from the Super Mario Brothers franchise.  At first, this might not seem like a whole lot.  For Animal Crossing fans, these items are huge.  Within Animal Crossing: New Leaf, there were special fortune cookies players could get with play coins.  So, if you have more play coins, you can get more fortune cookies. Within these fortune cookies, they contain special Nintendo items.  Unfortunately, when Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out, these items were nowhere to be found.  Which was incredibly sad as many players got in a routine to head to the Nook Cranny to get their fortune cookie.  As such, this announcement is huge for fans of the series. If anything, this announcement is similar to worth the wait.

The amount of items that players can purchase with Nook Miles is crazy. From warp pipes to costume choices, players can customize their island to a Super Mario Brothers island.  Sure, some players may not see the appeal behind it.  However, players who love customizing their islands can go wild to their heart’s content.  I’m excited to see what Animal Crossing players will do with the various items.  With this announcement release, the direct switches to a more serious game name Project Triangle Strategy.

This Nintendo Direct Reveals a New Game in Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY

This image is an official screenshot of Project Triangle Strategy.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY™ Debut Demo for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.” Nintendo explains “the rights for this franchise as well as this image belongs to Nintendo and Square Enix Co., Ltd.(4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY™ Debut Demo for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

Since the partnership with Square Enix, the Nintendo Switch has become a home to several new Square Enix games.  One of these new games is Project Triangle StrategyProject Triangle Strategy is a tactical role-playing game where the player’s choices change the game.  Much like another extremely popular series, Fire Emblem. Project Triangle Strategy challenges the player to take into account the battlefield, the warriors, and the position of each character. For each move has a repercussion.  Much like the story within this game.  The player has to make a decision that they think is the best for the situation.  Will this give the game the opportunity to be a hero or a villain? Sometimes, games like this give the player the opportunity to let everything fall into chaos.  If that is what the player decides to do.

Another aspect where this game looks extremely different is the art design.  The setting and the animations are 3D. However, the characters, as well as the background, contain sprite animation.  Much like a remaster version of a Super Nintendo or a game from the Sega Genesis.  Regardless, Project Triangle Strategy looks like a deep-telling story where many players will discuss their various outcomes.  From a serious game, the Nintendo Direct quickly changes directions to a brief mention of Star Wars: Hunters.

This Newest Nintendo Direct Briefly Announces Star Wars: Hunters

This image is an official title card for Star Wars: Hunters.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “STAR WARS: Hunters™ for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo explains “the rights for this franchise as well as this image, belongs to Lucasfilms Ltd Co, Zynga, and NaturalMotion Games Ltd.(2-3). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “STAR WARS: Hunters™ for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

The next game this direct briefly discusses is Star Wars: Hunters. Now, this teaser is incredibly brief.  Showing only a few characters holograms and the entrance to a battle arena. So, there is so many questions to have. Is this a battle royale game? What characters will be available? Will it be based on teams like the Empire vs. the Rebels? Honestly, there’s no more information that we know at this moment. This teaser trailer was literally announcing Star Wars: Hunters.  Which isn’t a bad thing. Possibly this just means that the team behind this game is in the early process of development and didn’t have anything to showcase.  This is totally fine as it’s up to the developers to release information when they feel it’s ready.

With that said, this game does look like fun. Star Wars has had a record for having great video games. Now, not all Star Wars games are good. However, a majority of them are really good.  While on the subject of battle royale games, the next game this Nintendo Direct reveals is Knockout City.

Knockout City Shows a Creative As Well As Chaotic Game of Dodgeball

This image is an official screenshot of Knockout City.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Knockout City™ for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo discusses “the rights for this franchise as well as this image belongs to Electronic Arts Inc. and Velan Studio Inc.(4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Knockout City™ for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

While on the subject of crazy battle royale games, this Nintendo Direct announces Knockout City.  Picture this for a second. What do you get if you combine Rocket League with the cartooniness of  Splatoon? Well, you get the wild and crazy game of Knockout City.  At first glance, this game looks like a crazy game of dodgeball.  Which will undoubtedly be a popular online multiplayer game. One of the things that I wish that Nintendo had was in-game chatting much like Call of Duty and other online multiplayer games.  Granted, Nintendo does have an app for the Nintendo Switch Online Membership. However, not every gamer has access to this app.  Perhaps this might be the push Nintendo needs to attempt to make in-game voice chat.  Undoubtedly, this won’t happen, but it would be the perfect opportunity to do so.

Anyway, Knockout City looks incredibly fun, chaotic, and colorful.  I’m interested to see what will happen with this particular indie game.  While on the subject of indie games, this Nintendo Direct reveals another indie game name World’s End Club.

A New Indie Game Announcement Came Through the Nintendo Direct Name World’s End Club

This image is an official screenshot of World’s End Club.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, . “World’s End Club for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo explains “the rights for this franchise as well as this image, belongs to IzanagiGames, Inc. and NIS America, Inc(4).   This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “World’s End Club for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

Indie games are everyone on the Nintendo Switch much like World’s End Club. World’s End Club follows a cast of characters as they travel to get back home.  What makes this game unique is that the cast of characters has different powers.  So, in order to get back home, the cast of characters must work together. This game looks incredibly interesting as a possible action, storytelling game. One of the things that really interesting about World’s End Club is the character design.  The main characters have large heads with large eyes.  In fact, some of the characters remind me of ones from SEGA. For instance, Pielope is similar to Nights from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.  With that, this game looks incredibly unique that it looks fun to play.

Furthermore, much like World’s End Club, this Nintendo Direct releases information about a physical release of Hades.

Hades Gets a Physical Copy Release With Some Bonuses

This image is an official screenshot of Hades.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Hades for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo displays “the rights for this franchise as well as this image belongs to Supergiant Games, LLC(4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Hades for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

After the introduction of a new indie game, this Nintendo Direct goes into a physical copy announcement of Hades.  Made in 2020, Hades blew away the indie gaming market.  With its colorful design in addition to fast-paced gameplay, Hades won a ton of different awards.  Now, this game does have a digital release on the Nintendo Switch. However, there was a new physical version coming for the Nintendo Switch.  Without a doubt, this is huge as not many indie games get a physical copy release.  The only time indie games get a physical copy release is if they’re really game-breaking. Plus, there’s a ton of free stuff this physical copy has to offer.  Being able to have some new bonuses encourages gamers to get the new copy. Especially for gamers who collect physical copies of video games.

Much like Hades, another game is releasing for the Nintendo Switch to get gamers excited name Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection.

Ninja Gaiden Gains a Master Collection Announcement Within This Nintendo Direct

Nintendo Direct

This image is an official promotional artwork for Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo explains “the rights for this franchise in addition to this image, belongs to Team NINJA and KOEI TECMO GAMES CO., LTD.(3). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “NINJA GAIDEN: Master Collection for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

Furthermore, this Nintendo Direct reveals a new collection for the Ninja Gaiden series.  Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection brings three different Ninja Gaiden games in one collection.  From this trailer, these games are defiantly getting an update.  Now, Master Collections, Remasters, or whatever they’re called help bring video games to the modern era.  Actually, Master Collections are the best way to bring new as well as returning players.  Returning players will be able to re-experience these games. While at the same time, new players will be able to experience Ninja Gaiden with modern graphics.  Undoubtedly, these games will bring another level of rage.  As the Ninja Gaiden series is incredibly challenging.  Regardless, this game collection looks fantastic. The graphics look incredibly impressive even for the Nintendo Switch. That’s not to say that the Nintendo Switch can’t handle high-quality games.

Yet, Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection looks incredible on the Nintendo Switch. Undoubtedly, with high pace action and a captivating story, this collection will be on a lot of gamer’s lists.  With this announcement, this Nintendo Direct then switches to another high pace game in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.

Nintendo Direct Reveals an Expansion Pass for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

This image is an official screenshot of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo discusses “the rights for this franchise as well as this image belongs to Nintendo and KOEI Tecmo Games(4). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”

The next update that this Nintendo Direct focuses on is an Expansion Pass for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.  Now, an Expansion Pass is incredibly exciting as this helps bring more content to a game.  Much like The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild and Pokemon Sword and Shield for example.  From what we see in this teaser trailer, we see some new characters as well as new missions.  Giving video games Expansion Passes is brilliant in a number of ways. Firstly, this gives The Legend of Zelda fans more content. As the team is hard at work on The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild 2.  Plus, this gives more Hyrule Warriors fans more opportunity to learn more about the universe that is before Breathe of the Wild.

Honestly, this Expansion Pass is a win-win situation for fans in addition to Nintendo.  Fans get to explore more of this universe of The Legend of Zelda. While at the same time get to play more of the Hyrule Warriors series.  On the other hand, Nintendo gets to focus more of their time and energy to The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild 2. As this teaser trailer ends, there is more news regarding The Legend of Zelda franchise.

Fans of The Legend of Zelda Franchise Reveals News About The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild 2 in Addition to The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

This image is an official screenshot of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “The Legend of Zelda™: Skyward Sword HD for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details.”, Nintendo explains “the right, as well as the credit for this franchise and image, belongs to Nintendo(4). Not long after the announcement of the Expansion Pass for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, the Nintendo Direct quickly spins to The Legend of Zelda franchise.  At first, many thought it was news regarding The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild 2.  However, this wasn’t the case.  According to Nintendo’s official YouTube page under the video, Nintendo Direct 2.17.2021, Eiji Aonuma the Producer of The Legend of Zelda series expresses “that work for The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild 2 is going as plan and more news will be express later in 2021” (42:0242:28). While work is going according to plan, more development and time is in need to release more information.

After this announcement, Eiji Aonuma showcases a new announcement trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. At first glance, this game looks absolutely stunning.  Honestly, this game reminds me of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD. Just of how much improvement this game offers.  From what we see in the presentation, the Nintendo Switch version works the same as the Wii.  So, players can use both the Joy-Cons and Pro-Controller to play. Plus, this game is a wonderful way for players who haven’t played this game a chance to play it.  Lastly, the Nintendo Direct reveals Splatoon 3.

Finally, the Nintendo Direct Ends on the Announcement of Splatoon 3

This image is an official screenshot of Splatoon 3.  According to Nintendo’s official website under the article, “Splatoon™ 3 for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details, Nintendo states, “the rights for this franchise and image, belongs to Nintendo(3). This image is on Nintendo’s official website under the article, ““Splatoon™ 3 for Nintendo Switch – Nintendo Game Details”.

Last but not least, this Nintendo Direct releases a trailer about Splatoon 3.  Now, Splatoon is an incredibly beloved Nintendo series.  Even to the point, Nintendo does various competitive tournaments of Splatoon 1 and eventually Splatoon 2.  If Nintendo is willing to do competitive tournaments, there’s obviously a demand for the series.  As a result, Splatoon 3 is coming to the Nintendo Switch in 2022.  From what we see in the announcement trailer, players get not only new weapons but also new custom designs. Plus, there looks like new creatures can be use in games. There are also returning weapons returning to this new game.  Unquestionably, this means returning players can feel comfortable. While at the same time, new players can learn more about what Splatoon has to offer.  From what we see here, Splatoon 3 has a ton of new additions while keeping familiar elements.

Just the fact that Splatoon fans are getting another game is incredibly exciting.  There had been rumors about another one coming. Especially when Nintendo stop making events for Splatoon 2.  With that, this Nintendo Direct reveals that there’s indeed a Splatoon 3 coming to the Nintendo Switch.
